The Mellon Homestead
Explore the Mellon Homestead, the birthplace of Thomas Mellon.
This unique tour will celebrate Thomas Mellon, who in 1818, left his farm alongside his family in Castletown, Omagh for a new life in America. Over time, the place that they called home changed and evolved. We'll be delving into the life of the Mellon family and the surrounding landscape on this guided tour on Saturday 13th September.
Starting at the Mellon Centre for Migration Studies, you'll be introduced to the lives the family left behind, and learn how Castletown and Omagh has changed from then to now. You'll then walk to the Mellon Homestead where you will see the Mellon House, the surrounding landscape and have the opportunity to see other areas which are not typically open to the public!
