Zoe & Cloyd
Asheville, North Carolina
With soaring harmonies and superlative musicianship, Zoe & Cloyd combine traditional bluegrass and old time with dashes of klezmer - a unique blend that acknowledges their diverse musical influences.
Zoe & Cloyd was formed in 2015 by exceptional fiddler Natalya Zoe Weinstein, and award winning songwriter and multi instrumentalist John Cloyd Miller. Together, alongside banjoist Bennett Sullivan and bassist Keven Kehrberg, the foursome make up this incredible band.
Coming from a lineage of klezmer and jazz musicians, Natalya was classically trained in her home state of Massachusetts before moving south in 2004. John is a twelfth generation North Carolinian and the grandson of pioneering bluegrass fiddler Jim Shumate, a member of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys. John is also a winner of Merlefest's Chris Austin Songwriting Contest and a recipient of the North Carolina Arts Council Artist Fellowship.
With four albums under their belts, Zoe & Cloyd have toured throughout the USA. Natalya, John and Kevin all teach in the music programmes at Warren Wilson College, and banjo ace Bennett is a respected music teacher, who co-founded the Tunefox bluegrass tuition website and app.
