The Watery Hill Boys

Drogheda, Co. Louth

Wattery Hill Boys

The Watery Hill Boys hail from Drogheda, County Louth. Their dynamic instrumentation and harmonies bring to life the sounds of such legendary groups as the Carter Family, The Blue Sky Boys and Bill Monroe.

The group’s individual members bring a wealth of experience in Old-Timey and Bluegrass together to play their versions of a music which sprang from many different traditions in the United States in the 1920s to the 1960s.

Since their formation, they have played many national and international festivals across Europe. You'll find Jim MacArdle on the guitar, autoharp, vocals; Dónal Black on the banjo, mandolin, vocals; and Seán Óg Collins on the double bass and vocals.
